Must Have!!!!

I was checking out the Tsarina of Tsocks and I found the Margaritaville! OH MY A-GAH!!!!!!!!!  I have to have this kit!!  I've seen some of her other patterns.  Who hasn't seen the Yarn Harlot's Vintage socks?  Are they not fabulous?  I actually checked out the Tsarina site after seeing Carin on Round the Twist talking about the Kitri socks.  Not my thing, but I'd wanted to see what else the Tsarina had come up with recently.
Speaking of socks.  I finished W's Christmas sock, yea me!  I'll take pictures tomorrow if the sun cooperates.

Almost There

DE-licious!
I have my Grandma's apple pie recipe but for the life of me I just can't get it right.  Probably because Grandma doesn't actually have the recipe written down so I have to go with her approximations.  This time, I almost got it right!  I'm hoping next time will be even better.

Too Early?

You can't tell from the picture (it was taken yesterday) but I finished the Kitschmas Tree:
I'm a Tree!
It is God-awful, and I love it!  Surprisingly, I made some changes to the pattern.  I increased 5 sts every 4 rounds instead of every 3 so that it would be a little pointier (point-y-er, it's a word right?) so I ended up with about 105 sts when I was running out of "fur."  Instead of making a separate crocheted base, I purled one round then decreased 10 stitches every other round until there were 10 stitches remaining.  I then stuffed the tree and k2tog around.  Initially I was going to add a canvas mesh to make the bottom more stiff, but once I stuffed the tree it seemed to stand up just fine without a base.  I also didn't stuff it super tight to make it "huggable".  I think the little people will enjoy playing with this Christmas tree.

Swim!

W had swim lessons this morning.  He LOVES it!  It's so funny because W is hesitant to try new things but always enjoys the new thing once he tries it.  The same goes for swimming.  We got into the pool and once again he started saying "bye, bye" which means he wants to go, but when I reminded him he could splash he had a blast.  Toddlers are funny.

Today, There's Pictures!

And I'm not lying either!  Here's the Joker Sock:
Cutie & a Sock   Sock, No Cutie
And the Linen Skirt which is a cross between the Skating Skirt from knitty & the Linen Trumpet Skirt from Interweave Knits:
Blurry Skirt
The bottom is the waistband.
This afternoon DH & I had a parent/teacher conference with K's teacher.  The good news is that she's doing great academically, but she tends to "space out" and doesn't focus at times.  Wonder where she gets it from hey look there's a squirrel!

Umm......

I don't really having anything to say for today.  I feel better than I did yesterday.  I shouldn't complain mainly because I hate it when people feel sorry for me.  Anyway, like I said, I didn't do much today.  I've been working on both the Kitschmas tree & the Skirt but haven't made enough progress to post pictures.

My Cardiac Sphincter Sucks

I don't feel well...no it's not the flu again, just really bad acid reflux.  I mean bad.  I feel like there is something stuck in my throat, it hurts to swallow (don't laugh), & it hurts worse to burp.  I blame my father, he's the one with GI troubles....just kidding Dad.  So basically I've done very little today besides drink a ton of water & eat a few crackers.  I have made some progress on the Kitschmas tree & I think it looks much better.  I like my trees like I like my pencils...pointy!

Re-start

I have frogged and re-cast-on for the Kitschmas tree.  It looked okay, but I wanted it to be more "pointy".  And yes, I know it isn't even Thanksgiving yet, but I didn't know how long it would take me to work on this thing.....

Don't bring up that I have yet to finish the family stockings!

Mmmm, Cozy!

I finished it!
Fuzzy goodness
It's hard to tell, but there is a "b" on the front in lime-green.  One thing I did that made it go a lot easier was doing the intarsia in the round.  Moth Heaven has a really good tutorial on how to do it.  Intarsia in the round is somewhat complicated and has to be done on dpn's or 2 circulars (you do a lot of slipping of stitches) but it was worth it....for me at least.  Again, the pattern is the Weasley cell cozy by Gritty Knits.

No, I Will Never Learn

According to my Ravelry Notebook, I have 15 WIP's.  Yes, 15....so what's the most logical thing to do?  Finish one of the WIP's you say?  Don't be ridiculous, I'm going to cast-on for ANOTHER project, like any non-crazy person would do!  At least I can use the excuse that it's small & that I'm nearly finished with it already.  And of course it is super cute.  Since I murdered dropped my cell phone and have to use one of the old phones, I decided that the temporary phone needs a cozy.  I'm making a cozy mainly because I'm afraid of dropping this phone as well and then REALLY being up poop creek!  And yes, I am almost finished with it and I started it at the Redmond knitting group this afternoon.  The pattern can be found at GrittyKnits.com.
